I got cast as a news reporter in a play… how should I play my character?

It’s a relatively big role and I want it to be funny. I’m thinking it should be really stereotypical (short flipped hair, skirt, etc.), but am kind of lost on what kind of voice to use, movements, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
