Are the characters from the tv show Lost named after people from the enlightenment?

A lot of the character’s on LOST are named after real people. like John Locke was a philosopher in the 17 hundreds. Danial Faraday was an actual person, i’m pretty sure he was even a scientist, but i don’t know for sure. Charlotte was named after C.S. Lewis. (Charlotte Staples Lewis) those are the ones i know for sure where actually people, but i’m not sure if there are any more. Probably.

Yes, manycharacters are named after philosophers
i.e. Desmond DAVID HUME.

Many names are philosophers or have meaning or a real person behind them. Daniel Faraday is a physicist and there is a real physicist named Michael Faraday. Everything seems to have meaning behind it on Lost.
