@HeadNtheClouds except maybe Robin Williams I would have been offended. Robin I think could have pulled it off without stamping SNL all over it. The only case where SNL flavor didn’t bother me was Wayne’s World, but that wasn’t a childhood series it was their invention. I want to compliment you on your work it would make a great documentary one day, and thanks to the response I’m always happy to talk about my Saturday morning shows I miss from the past.

@HeadNtheClouds As far as the movie goes, I know Will Ferrel can be funny, and he is talented. Personally I can acknowledge what he does, but I just don’t find him that consistently funny. I prefer actor comedians Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Ricard Pryor w- Wilder mainly, because they are such good friends. The stand up of Carlin, and Carson. When I seen Will was in LOTL is was instantly angry, that they were going to turn the show into a joke. I think if any I named did it except maybe

@HeadNtheClouds I nearly want to see it, just to see if I was right to judge it harshly. I felt that for those that truly love the show were in love with it for a special reason, and it was comedy. I really want them to explore the Matrix tables, to meet up with Enik again, to be stuck with the responsibility, but yet get brief chances of going home. To me bringing Jack in hurt the show, much as when sliders was losing rating, the killing the professor, and turned it to a flesh fest.

@utubesuperstation Yeah, I quit watching the season 3 ones, I just wasn’t too interested anymore at that point (pre-teen years), but it’s fun to watch now. I don’t think the writers could have ever imagined anyone taking the story line so seriously back then. Yes, we want it to make sense, we want them to get back home, but they don’t. Upon thinking about it now, I think it’s kinda cool that they didn’t all get out, only their alter ego & the dad.,& I agree I’ll never see the’new’jackass version

@HeadNtheClouds I also am a bit pissed at Will Ferrell, and a have so far boycotted the new movie, because I didn’t want the Land of the Lost ruined by making it a comedy.

@HeadNtheClouds I liked Enik & how mysterious the Matrix tables are. I always hoped they would find Enik and rescue you him, I always felt Enik was lost, because nothing changed when he went home, nor did he leave a message in the caves to the Marshalls. I remember being put off when dad went home , and then Jack conveniently popped up.

@Ocongate , That Movie version of the TV show sucked plain and simple..leave it to Hollywood to screw up another classic TV show when they bring it to the Big Screen. I can’t believe Sid and Marty actually liked the film…so I heared.

@homebuiltindoorplane then I guess you need to grow up a little, and I resent that last comment, and by the way, don’t bother to answer this, you won’t get an answer.

@Choirguy95 grown ups in the outside real world know that what I said is considered a ‘joke’. So lighten up, go get laid, you will feel better:)

@rhomis As a kid, I liked it. Looking at the effects and acting now… oh man. That’s the good thing about doing kid shows. They can suck and kids still like em.

@TruthSurge
This show was so low budget, it was only made to fill time for the blank TV spots on Saturday morning.

mygif
TruthSurge said in August 24th, 2010 at 12:00 pm

what logic. They’re there making the doorway not work yet by placing a white crystal the doorway will open. HAHAHHA I never knew how low-budget this show was when I was watching it as a youngster.

Thanks headintheclouds for putting all this together ! I loved LOTL ! The W.Farrel movie was trash. They really needed to make it more serious. I won’t watch another Farrel movie ever again. My favorite LOTL is when Holly is stuck in the pylon and she’s going from one world doorway to another and she finds herself back home and she decides to stay in the pylon but she catches the frisbee before the door closes.She was such a cutie ! And still is !
