Ben seems to be coldly sarcastic and heartless sometimes. His dialogue on the plane reveals a lot about him. “The other people on this plane, what’s gonna happen to them?” “Who cares?” I think Ben may have been claimed in the temple whe’n Richard took him, so that’s why he is so calm and kills people a lot. Also when he says, “You’re the one who got to stay after school with Ms. Hawking,” shows that he is jealous of Jack who got to talk to someone important, like Locke could see Jacob.
Jack: “How can you read?!”
Ben: “My mother taught me…”
I love when Jack asks Ben how he can read and Ben replies “My mother taught me.”
