What was on the Island in the tv programme Lost?

Its not finished yet so we don’t fully know

well it’s not over yet, new season starts again in jan. 09, but it depends on where you left off…alot has happened, what was hidden on the island was numerous research bases, all that controlled different things and had different experiments based out of each, the big thing about the island is it’s healing properties, it has a large magnetic pull and it ‘cures’ people of their illnesses, hence rose and her cancer, also the show started taking on a different twist, like jack’s father showing back up and being like the ‘main boss’ but he’s dead right? so the island has all these spirits on it, and gives the survivors ‘visions’ and such like john locke, who in the end pretty much takes bens place, they make the island ‘move’ because pennys dad finds it and wants to basically sell it out to the highest bidder, but they just made it disappear for a moment is my guess it never actually moves and 6 ppl get off the island, hurley, jack, kate, sun, the baby, sahid, well actually desmond gets off too, but he stays with penny since he wasn’t on the flight…and of course the oceanic 6 start to have flashes of the island wanting them back and how the others need their help (they lied to the press sayin they were the only survivors to keep the others ‘safe’) so hurley winds up back in the mental hospital where he keeps seeing charley, jack and kate are together raising arron (who is actually jack’s nephew), jack starts freaking out about going back to the island and messes up things with him and kate and at the very end ben shows back up and john locke (who stayed on the island) winds up in a coffin back in the ‘real world’

sorry it’s a bit choppy but…it’s an overview, we really don’t know what the ‘black smoke’ monster thing is, besides some weird security system still….
